Thoughts from a teacher-librarian

Just the beginning

Well, here I am am blogging.  I have always been a teacher who enjoyed using technology with my students, but the introvert in me shied away from public posting on my own.  I made a resolution to put myself out there a bit more; Twitter was the first step.  I had an account for a couple of years, but just checked it occasionally and was more of a lurker.  In January I started posting….OK, mostly retweeting, but it’s a start!  It’s been a good learning experience for me to see the huge networks and resources that are available.  Twitter has been entertaining and informative.  Next I signed up for an EdCamp in Milwaukee.  That was pretty mind-blowing to listen to other educators who are so passionate and engaged.  I learned a little bit about a lot of different things, made a few new connections, and am inspired to keep trying new things.  Now I’ve signed up for an online writing workshop for teachers and librarians (thank you, Kate Messner!) and realized that most other participants have a website or blog.  Yikes!  Nerve-wracking to realize I’m so far behind the curve.  So, here goes another new thing to try.  GERONIMO!!!!
